Four Grant Management Trainings Delivered
In its efforts to build faculty and institutional capacity for grant-funded research activities, the Office of Sponsored Research Services has conducted four faculty training sessions on developing a research career, key funders, grant-writing, and drafting NIH bio sketches (a specially-formatted resume required for U.S. National Institutes of Health funding).
ULCHS faculty members at an OSRS grant management training session held in the College of Health Sciences auditorium.
These sessions, held at ULCHS, were attended by over 30 faculty members each, significantly enhancing their capacity. The training has boosted faculty confidence and knowledge of research grant processes. As a result, the College of Health Sciences has submitted several proposals to U.S. federal funding opportunities, including from the NIH, CDC, and USAID.
All externally-funded projects are managed in accordance with OSRS guidelines on sponsored research projects. OSRS and the Office of Fiduciary Services at ULCHS support all processes from project application to completion.

ULCHS recently undertook its second comprehensive external financial audit covering the period July 1, 2022 - December 31, 2023, and received an unqualified opinion from the auditors, meaning the financial records, reports, and systems were found to be correct and compliant.

"Receiving an unqualified audit report is a significant achievement that underscores the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of our financials. It reflects the dedication and diligence of our team in ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and financial best practices. This clean audit opinion reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest level of accountability and sound financial management within ULCHS."
